There's something so magical about painting landscapes. Over the years I've explored them in various styles and medium in my studio.
I'm often asked how do you find your own art style, especially when they're are SO many other Artists painting landscapes.
Here's how you do it:
You study many different art styles, even those that may be a little outside of your comfort zone. Then you can combine the elements from different styles that you love in your own way to develop your own unique style.

In Part 1 you'll be guided through a series of exercises showing you how to break down your landscape images, select your colours, plan your composition and work with different shapes in forms.
In Part 2 you'll reflect on your studies and choose elements from your work to develop into your final abstract landscape artworks.
COLOUR is the start of the show in Fauvism!
In this unit you'll get a quick debrief on what the fauvism art movement was all about and how they used colour and brushstrokes.
In Part 1 you'll explore your landscape images in wet and dry media studies. You'll look at how to use fauvist style brushstrokes while exploring the work of various fauvist Artist Models.
In Part 2 you'll take your studies and choose elements from your work to develop into your final fauvist landscape artworks.
There's something magical about working with a variety of different media in an artwork. In Mixed Media Landscapes you'll be shown how to work with different wet and dry media to create a variety of wonderful effects.
In Part 1 you'll source your landscape imagery so you have plenty of imagery for your work. You'll then be guided through a series of short exercises exploring sketching, colour and collage.
In Part 2 you'll reflect on your studies and choose elements from your work to develop into your final mixed media landscapes.

Wet media: Acrylics, Inks, Watercolours
Dry Media: Coloured pencils, charcoal, paint pens
Painting surfaces: Whatever size or surface you prefer including, 300gsm paper, (minimum thickness for wet work), canvas, wooden panels, canvas boards
